46: All In

Teetering on the edge of turning 46, nothing seems more representative of the past few years than a sense of drifting. I have to go back to October of 2019 when the chance to head out on my last stint of prodigaling came through to remember a time I felt genuinely excited. That sense of drifting is one that pervades everyone of the dimensions in which I have categorised my life so far: Spiritual, Physical & Health, Financial, Relational, Work & Career, Mental & Personal Development, and Causes & Charities. Acedia seems like the best descriptor of the state.

If I could boil down my wish for the year of being 46 then, it would be to reconnect again, to be, to live All-In. A few things stand out as being key descriptors of what a successful year of being 46 would be, even if at a stretch:

  • Getting down to a healthy weight: ~85kg or so
  • Getting clear with faith – resolving my on/off dalliance
  • Living and working in another country, ideally with a 28 day rotation and something in the ~$200k per annum range

Fingers crossed for the Universe to deliver, I guess?
